It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Principal of Austin High School. I am excited to begin my seventh school year alongside our outstanding faculty and staff. As a proud Austin alum, I have a deep connection to the Black Bear community and am passionate about serving the school that helped shape me. I began my career at Austin High School as a teacher and head basketball coach. My love for students, education, and the Austin community eventually led me into school administration. The faculty and staff are committed to providing every student with the tools to be successful in life beyond high school. Whether a student plans to attend college, enter the workforce, pursue a technical career, serve in the military, or follow another path, our goal is to ensure that every Black Bear graduate is prepared for the next chapter of their life. Together, we will continue to create meaningful learning experiences, build positive relationships, and provide our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to be successful. Most importantly, I want every member of the Black Bear family to know that Once a Black Bear, Always a Black Bear. And, as I always say: Be Nice and Go Bears! Mr. Demond Garth
