AHS Code Ambassadors visited CRMS earlier this week to assist in their coding activities.
AHS Code Ambassadors will visit each classroom to assist on a programming activity. Check your school email later this week for more information. The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week [csedweek.org] and Code.org [code.org] to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.
Austin High won a recent contest at the Beltline Waffle House among AHS, DHS, and Priceville High. As a result, Waffle House presented Austin High with a $500 check and provided breakfast for the entire staff and student body. Thank you!!!!
AHS AP CSP students explored methods for encoding digital images in binary which requires representing metadata such as width and height as well as pixel data. Students used the Pixelation widget on Code.org to encode black and white raster images. Please click to view student work.
AHS AP CSP students learned about the RGB color encoding scheme and used an updated version of the pixelation widget on Code.org to encode color images. Students had the option of working with binary or hexadecimal notation to facilitate the representation of larger groupings of binary digits. Please click on the title above to see some student work.
