Black Bears Beat Shades Valley; Rise to Next Level!

The Black Bears beat Shades Valley tonight in a neck to neck game, with a final score of 42-35. We will host Pinson on Nov. 24 at Ogle Stadium. Tickets for Shades Valley Playoff Game

Get your tickets for the AHS vs. Shades Valley Playoff Game on Friday! Tickets will be presold in the AHS cafeteria on Friday from 10:30-12:20. The price for all tickets is $8. The AHSAA sets the cost for all games at this level of competition. The AHS Black Bears ran over the Carver Rams in the first playoff game one week ago. Come out and join the Black Bear Family to cheer our team to victory once again!!! #blackbearnation

The Big Squeeze!

The state-mandated tornado drill on November 8 occurred just before Scantron testing of around 100 students in the Media Center. It could have spelled chaos. Instead, the students went in an orderly fashion into the ACCESS Lab which already contained over 20 students. Everyone squeezed in the small room (which became warm very quickly) and maintained a good attitude until the drill ended. The snapshot shows one section of the room. Austin Black Bears are the best!

College Colors Day

Black Bear staff wore the colors of their colleges on November 3 at the culmination of College Application Week. Seniors completed applications, under the direction of Senior Counselor Catrena Jackson, to a number of colleges who had waived application fees during the week. We have a highly qualified staff from a diverse range of colleges. More pictures included. It was a great week to be on the Black Bear campus!
